Prabowo Plans to Appoint Presidential Envoys to Each State-Owned Enterprise

President Prabowo Subianto plans to place presidential envoys in state-owned enterprises. The Head of State made this announcement at an event celebrating the anniversary of the Danantara Investment Management Agency held at Wisma Danantara in Jakarta.

Prabowo stated that he has already appointed several presidential envoys. Some of the special envoys appointed by Prabowo since taking office as President include Muhamad Mardiono as Presidential Envoy for Food Security and Raffi Farid Ahmad as Presidential Envoy for Youth Development and Arts Workers.

“I have appointed presidential envoys, and perhaps later I will appoint envoys to each state-owned enterprise that we manage,” said Prabowo in Jakarta on Wednesday evening, 11 March 2026.

For Prabowo, each state-owned enterprise or BUMN managed by Danantara must be monitored to prevent leakage of state wealth. State-owned enterprises, he noted, are the “lifeblood of the Indonesian nation.”

He said, “We must monitor because this is the lifeblood of the Indonesian nation. If this blood continues to leak, our nation will be in difficulty.”

Despite this concern, the Chairman of the Gerindra Party claimed that Indonesia has a strong and bright future ahead. He emphasised that Indonesia must remain united and harmonious, particularly amid a world situation full of uncertainty. “We face crises with courage. Crisis is opportunity. We are united, we are harmonious, we work hard,” he said.

Prabowo also reminded Danantara of the importance of oversight. According to him, many government investment management agencies in wealthy countries have suffered losses due to poor management.

Therefore, he urged Danantara’s leadership to safeguard, monitor, and manage the agency as well as possible. “I entrust you with vigilance, mindfulness and caution. Protect yourselves. Remember, the hopes of the entire nation, all the people rest on your shoulders. You safeguard, you manage the wealth of our children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren,” he said.
