Prabowo Phones Muslim Leaders, from Anwar Ibrahim to Mahmoud Abbas

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto contacted several Muslim country leaders to convey Eid al-Fitr greetings for 1447 Hijriah. This was learned from a post on the official Instagram account of the Cabinet Secretariat, quoted on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

Prabowo held telephone conversations with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. This step is part of efforts to maintain close relations between countries while strengthening cooperation.

“This interaction serves as prayers and good wishes in maintaining closeness, support, and strengthening cooperation between countries, especially at this meaningful Eid al-Fitr moment,” the @sekretariat.kabinet Instagram account stated, quoted on Tuesday (24/3/2026).

Previously, Prabowo had also engaged in similar communications with several other country leaders, such as Turkish President Recep Erdogan, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Jordan’s King Abdullah II, and Saudi Arabian Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
