Prabowo Personally Welcomes SBY to the Presidential Palace Open House
President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto personally welcomed the arrival of the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), who came with his child, son-in-law, and grandchildren to the open house event for the Idulfitri 1447 Hijriah halalbihalal at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta on Saturday (21/3) afternoon.
Based on observations, Prabowo greeted SBY and his family at the side entrance of Merdeka Palace.
SBY was accompanied by his eldest son, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), along with his child and wife, as well as his youngest son, Deputy Speaker of the People’s Consultative Assembly Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas), and his family.
The family of the top leadership of the Democrat Party appeared united, dressed in cream-coloured attire.
Prabowo then walked side by side with SBY up the steps of Merdeka Palace.
Prabowo’s son, Didit Hediprasetyo, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were seen joining the welcome at Merdeka Palace.
In addition to SBY, Prabowo also received a number of ministers, state officials, and national figures at the palace’s open house event today.
Based on observations from the live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel around 4:00 PM WIB, various state officials and their families entered the state palace area to exchange greetings with Prabowo.
Some of the officials seen attending with their families included Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, and Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.
Earlier that afternoon, Prabowo directly received and shook hands with ordinary citizens who filled the Presidential Palace area in Jakarta.
Prabowo, who performed Idulfitri prayers in Aceh that morning, arrived at the palace around 3:00 PM WIB. Beginning with the sounding of a trumpet fanfare around 3:00 PM WIB, Prabowo entered the area accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo.
Prabowo then greeted and shook hands with a number of citizens who had lined up neatly along his path.
In addition to shaking hands, many citizens also captured the moment of the handshake using their respective smartphones.
For information, since noon around 12:00 PM WIB, a long queue was visible at the palace entrance gate via Jalan Majapahit. The scorching sun and hot weather did not diminish the citizens’ enthusiasm to exchange greetings with President Prabowo.
In the live broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, it was stated that approximately 5,000 citizens came to the palace open house.
“The arrangement of this visit is done in shifts so that the public can experience this Fitri day comfortably,” as stated by the broadcaster on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.
Food and gift offerings for citizens
To manage the citizens attending the palace open house, they were divided into several routes to avoid congestion. Some of them were from the State Secretariat Ministry courtyard on the left wing of the palace complex, and in the central courtyard of the State Palace.
In addition, citizens who came were given gifts from the palace side. Then in the central courtyard, citizens could enjoy dishes served buffet-style by the palace.
Islamic music entertainment was also observed being performed live from a small stage.
