President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto personally welcomed the arrival of the sixth President of the Republic of Indonesia Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY), who came with his son, son-in-law, and grandchildren to the open house for Eid al-Fitr halalbihalal 1447 Hijriah at the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3) afternoon.

Based on observations, Prabowo welcomed SBY and his family from the side entrance of Merdeka Palace.

SBY was accompanied by his eldest son, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), along with his child and wife, as well as his youngest son, Deputy Speaker of the MPR Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono (Ibas), and family.

The family of the Democratic Party leadership appeared cohesive, dressed in cream-coloured attire.

Prabowo then walked alongside SBY up the steps of Merdeka Palace.

Prabowo’s son, Didit Hediprasetyo, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were seen joining the welcome at Merdeka Palace.

In addition to SBY, Prabowo also received a number of ministers, state officials, and national figures at the open house event at the palace today.

Based on observations from the live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel, around 4:00 PM WIB, various state officials and their families entered the palace grounds to exchange greetings with Prabowo.

Some officials seen attending with their families included Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, and Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung.

Earlier that afternoon, Prabowo directly received and shook hands with ordinary citizens who filled the Presidential Palace area in Jakarta.

Prabowo, who performed Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh that morning, arrived at the palace around 3:00 PM WIB. Beginning with the sounding of a trumpet fanfare around 3:00 PM WIB, Prabowo entered the area accompanied by his son, Didit Hediprasetyo.

Prabowo then greeted and shook hands with a number of citizens who had lined up neatly along his path.

In addition to shaking hands, many citizens captured the moment of the handshake using their respective smartphones.

For information, since noon, around 12:00 PM WIB, long queues were visible at the palace entrance gate via Jalan Majapahit. The scorching sun and hot weather did not diminish the citizens’ enthusiasm to exchange greetings with President Prabowo.

In the live broadcast by the Presidential Secretariat, it was stated that approximately 5,000 citizens came to the open house at the palace.

“The visit arrangements are carried out in shifts so that the public can experience this festive day comfortably,” as stated by the broadcaster on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.

Food and gift offerings for citizens

To manage the citizens attending the open house at the palace, they were divided into several routes to avoid congestion. Some of these were from the State Secretariat Ministry courtyard on the left wing of the palace complex, and in the central courtyard of the State Palace.

In addition, arriving citizens were given gifts from the palace side. Then, in the central courtyard, citizens could enjoy dishes served buffet-style by the palace.

Islamic music entertainment was also observed being performed live from a small stage.
