Prabowo Performs Eid Prayer in Aceh, Muzani: Solidarity with Siblings Affected by Disaster

President Prabowo Subianto performed Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayers in Aceh Tamiang, Aceh. MPR RI Chairman Ahmad Muzani stated that Prabowo’s decision to hold Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh represents a form of solidarity with the flood disaster victims in Aceh and Sumatra.

“Today, the President is performing Eid prayers in Aceh. This is a form of solidarity shown by the President to our brothers and sisters in Sumatra who were affected by the disaster in November,” said Muzani after Eid prayers at Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026).

Muzani said the government’s attention to this disaster has been extraordinary. He stated that Prabowo’s choice to perform Eid prayers in Aceh today also represents his determination to rebuild the region after the disaster.

“And the central government’s attention to this issue has been extraordinary from the start. The President’s determination to rebuild West Sumatra, North Sumatra, and Aceh to their former state has been carried out well. Currently, rehabilitation and reconstruction are in process,” said Muzani.

“Today, the President is praying there to show solidarity and togetherness with friends and brothers in Aceh who are still living in various temporary shelters,” he added.

Muzani extended Eid al-Fitr 1447 H greetings. He hoped that brotherhood, unity, and harmony in Indonesia would become even stronger and more solid.

“On this Eid al-Fitr, we hope that the brotherhood, unity, and harmony that have been well-established in Indonesian national life will become even more solid, stronger, more peaceful, and we as a society feel the enjoyment of that unity,” he said.

Muzani also hoped and prayed that Indonesia would be spared from calamities, dangers, and all kinds of other disasters to build a better future. He also invited all parties to be self-aware.

“Thirdly, of course, we continue to maintain self-awareness and continue to pay attention to our environment. Do the best for our brothers and sisters, friends, and all our colleagues, so that we become useful people for all our lives,” he said.

For information, Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka performed Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayers at Istiqlal Mosque. Gibran was accompanied by his son, Jan Ethes Sinarendra.

In addition, several high-ranking state officials also joined the Eid prayers at Istiqlal Mosque this morning. Among them were MPR Chairman Ahmad Muzani, Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency Nusron Wahid, Minister of Culture Fadli Zon, Chairman of Commission VIII Marwan Dasopang, DPD Chairman Sultan Bachtiar Najamudin, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration and Correctional Services Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Bawaslu Chairman Rahmat Bagja, Minister of National Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency Rachmat Pambudi, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni, and Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar.
