Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto stated that maintaining peace cannot be achieved through prayer and hope alone, but must be accompanied by earnest effort and genuine work to realise prosperity and justice for all citizens.

In his address at the Nuzul al-Qur’an commemoration held at the State Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday evening, the President said peace can only be realised if the state is able to eliminate poverty, hunger, and public suffering.

“Certainly, maintaining peace is not simply through prayer and hope, but also through genuine effort and hard work to achieve prosperity and justice,” said Prabowo.

The President noted that Indonesia possesses tremendous potential to achieve this because it has been blessed with abundant natural resources.

“We recognise that peace cannot fall from the sky without genuine effort and hard work from all of us. We have been bestowed by the Almighty with tremendous wealth,” said the President.

The Head of State emphasised that leaders bear a significant responsibility to manage this wealth properly so that no citizens live in destitution.

The President affirmed that the government’s primary duty is to ensure all Indonesian citizens are protected and receive state attention.

As President, Prabowo stated that he continuously remembers the constitutional mandate to protect all Indonesian citizens regardless of ethnicity, race, or religion. He stressed that all citizens must be cared for, managed, and guided by the state.

In the context of international relations, President Prabowo also reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to continuing to maintain world peace by building friendship and good relations with all nations.
