Prabowo: Pancasila as the Guiding Principle for National and State Life

JAKARTA – President Prabowo Subianto stated that Pancasila serves as a guiding principle for Indonesia in national life, community, and state affairs.

He made the remarks during the Pancasila Birth Anniversary commemoration at the Pancasila Building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) in Jakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026.

“Pancasila is the guideline for regulating national life, community life, and state life, including how we build our national economic system,” Prabowo said in his speech.

He noted uneven economic growth and wealth being enjoyed by parties abroad.

“We must acknowledge that for too long our wealth has not fully been utilised for the people’s prosperity. For too long, a portion of the value added from our resources has been enjoyed overseas. For too long, our people have merely been spectators to their nation’s wealth,” Prabowo said.

During the anniversary, he promoted the Pancasila Economy, founded on five principles: religious, humanitarian, national interest, people-centric, and social justice.

“My historical task as the 8th President of the Republic of Indonesia is to transform the nation, particularly our national economy. Transforming from an economy not fully based on Pancasila to one truly grounded in Pancasila,” Prabowo said.

He also emphasised strengthening cooperatives, SMEs, and making villages the centre of new economic growth, in line with Article 33 of the 1945 Constitution.

“We are strengthening natural resource downstreaming, building national food security, reinforcing cooperatives and village economies, and continuing to provide free nutritious meals to build a healthy, strong, and intelligent generation of Indonesians,” Prabowo said.
