Prabowo: Pancasila as National Unifier and Global Peace Foundation

Jakarta, KOMPAS.com – President Prabowo Subianto stated that Pancasila serves as a firm anchor amid a fragmented global landscape and rising geopolitical rivalries.

“This is why this year’s theme, ‘Pancasila as the Unifier of the Nation and Foundation of World Peace,’ carries profound meaning,” Prabowo said during the Pancasila Day commemoration ceremony at Gedung Pancasila in Central Jakarta on Monday, 1 June 2026.

“Amid a world increasingly divided by conflicts, geopolitical rivalries, trade wars, and economic uncertainty, Indonesia has a solid anchor – Pancasila,” he added.

Indonesia comprises thousands of islands, hundreds of ethnic groups, languages, and diverse cultures.

Prabowo also stressed that Pancasila is not merely a historical record but a guiding principle for national, societal, and state life.

“Pancasila is not just a historical document. It should not merely be a slogan recited during every ceremony,” he said.

He also highlighted the need to build a national economic system, acknowledging that one of Indonesia’s major challenges today is ensuring economic development aligns with Pancasila’s values.

“Let us always be honest with ourselves. We must acknowledge our weaknesses and difficulties. For several decades, Indonesia’s economy has grown, but has this growth been equitable and fairly shared among all Indonesians?” Prabowo stressed.
