Prabowo: Over 108 Issues Resolved in 18 Months, a Significant Achievement

President Prabowo Subianto stated that the government has resolved more than 108 issues during its 18-month tenure. According to Prabowo, this accomplishment is a significant achievement. “Perhaps our latest count is more than 108 issues, 110 issues that we have resolved in over a year, 18 months of our government. This is no small achievement. We are humble, we do not want to beat our chests, we do not want to and we must not be big-headed, we must not be arrogant; that is the character of our nation,” Prabowo said while opening a cabinet meeting at the State Palace in Jakarta on Monday (20/7/2026). “But if we achieve something, we must acknowledge that we have achieved it. No other nation will respect us if we do not respect our own nation,” he continued. Prabowo said the government received a mandate from the people to face and resolve the nation’s various problems. Therefore, he urged all members of the cabinet not to be daunted in facing existing challenges. “We are given a mandate by the people to face and solve problems, so we must not be afraid of problems, we must not be afraid of difficulties, we must not be afraid of shortcomings. We understand, the entire nation understands, that our teachers’ salaries are insufficient, we understand that our job opportunities are lacking, we understand that there is still much extreme poverty, we understand all the problems we face,” he said. Prabowo stated that he discovered several issues that were far greater than anticipated, one of which was the leakage of state wealth. “We understand that this is precisely why we were chosen and given the mandate to resolve these issues. We understand there is inequality in our society, but frankly, I must say, everywhere, I myself, as president, as the one given the mandate together with the Vice President, we were sworn in. I myself did not expect that some problems were truly beyond our estimation,” he said. “There has been a distortion of our economy; our wealth has been flowing out significantly, thousands of trillions, hundreds of billions of dollars each year, through practices of under-invoicing, falsification of trade reports, smuggling practices, things that are unreasonable and unfair to our nation,” he stated. According to Prabowo, these findings are supported by data from international institutions, including the United Nations. He cited the example of Indonesia, the world’s largest palm oil producer, experiencing a cooking oil shortage for weeks. “This is not our data, this is data from international institutions, this is data from the UN. But the entire nation has felt it, all economic actors at home and abroad understand. Everyone knows that the world’s largest palm oil producer ran out of cooking oil for weeks, something that defies logic,” he said. Prabowo assessed that the government has resolved many issues within the 18-month period and pledged to complete the remaining tasks.
