Prabowo: Our Wealth Has Been Plundered for Too Long
Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto has called on his subordinates to work harder to save state funds. According to him, the nation’s wealth has been plundered by a group of people for far too long.
“How many times must I emphasise it: working in government is a sacrifice and devotion. The nation’s and people’s wealth has been plundered for too long, for far too long,” Prabowo stated at the event for the Handover of Administrative Fines and State Financial Recovery as well as the Results of the Sixth Phase of Regaining Control of Forest Areas, at the Attorney General’s Office Building, Jakarta, on Friday (10/4/2026).
At the beginning of his term, Prabowo issued Presidential Regulation (Perpres) No. 5 of 2025 to regulate the tidying up of forest areas and establish the Task Force for Forest Area Regulation (Satgas PKH).
“I formed the Satgas PKH; if anyone threatens the Task Force, they are threatening the President of the Republic of Indonesia,” he explained.
Prabowo will continue to strive to save state funds through various law enforcement policies. The 1945 Basic Law serves as the foundation so that no more state wealth is plundered.
“I will use that to enforce the law, brothers and sisters, without favouritism, without regard to who,” Prabowo asserted firmly.
He asked the entire apparatus to remain committed to law enforcement. “Once again, our work is still heavy, the journey is still long, leaks are still happening, smuggling is still occurring,” he said.
“Commander of the Indonesian National Armed Forces, Chief of Police, Minister of Finance, you have institutions tasked with stopping smuggling; use your authority to enforce all that. All institutions at every level must cooperate to uphold the law. I strongly agree.”
