Prabowo Orders Strict and Transparent Forest Area Enforcement; PKH Task Force Findings to be Announced Soon

President Prabowo Subianto has requested that the enforcement of forest areas be conducted strictly and professionally. This instruction was issued when Prabowo received the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH), led by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin, in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday, 4 September 2026.

During the meeting, the PKH Task Force reported several findings related to violations in the use of forest areas. One of the primary concerns raised was illegal mining activities.

“In the meeting, the PKH Task Force reported developments regarding findings and the implementation of enforcement against various violations in forest area usage, including illegal mining activities,” stated the Cabinet Secretary, as quoted on Saturday, 5 September 2026.

The report was presented following Prabowo’s return to Indonesia after completing a work agenda in Vladivostok, Russia.

In addition to presenting the findings, the PKH Task Force also reported on the handling of various violations and administrative fines related to the utilisation of forest areas. The government has scheduled the announcement of the progress of these enforcement actions for the second week of September 2026.

Prabowo requested that the enforcement process not be carried out arbitrarily. He emphasised that all stages of law enforcement must be accountable and conducted openly.

“The President emphasised that the law enforcement process must be carried out firmly and professionally. The entire series of executions and forest area enforcement must be conducted transparently and accountably,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.

The enforcement of forest areas is part of the government’s efforts to ensure that the use of natural resources proceeds in accordance with the law. Through the PKH Task Force, the government continues to take action against various forms of violations in forest areas, including activities that lack a legal basis or are illegal.

This step is expected to ensure that forest area management becomes more orderly and responsible. The limited meeting in Hambalang was also attended by Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the Defence Logistics Agency of the Ministry of Defence Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and CTO of Danantara Sigit P. Santosa.
