Prabowo orders strict and accountable enforcement in forest areas
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has ordered that the enforcement of forest areas be conducted strictly, transparently, and accountably, while receiving the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force (Satgas PKH) led by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin in Hambalang, Bogor, West Java, on Friday (4/9).
According to reports received on Saturday, the meeting took place after the President returned to Indonesia following the completion of his work agenda in Vladivostok, Russia.
Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the Forest Area Enforcement Task Force reported developments regarding findings and the implementation of enforcement against various violations in forest area usage.
“In the meeting, the Task Force reported developments on findings and the enforcement of various violations in forest area usage, including illegal mining activities,” said the Cabinet Secretary.
These developments are scheduled to be announced in the second week of September 2026.
During the meeting, President Prabowo emphasised that the law enforcement process must be carried out strictly and professionally.
The Head of State also requested that all stages of execution and forest area enforcement be implemented by prioritising the principles of transparency and accountability.
“The President emphasised that the law enforcement process must be carried out strictly and professionally. The entire series of execution and forest area enforcement must be conducted transparently and accountably,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy.
Through the Task Force, the government continues to enforce order against various forms of violations in forest areas, including activities that lack a legal basis or illegal activities, ensuring that forest area management can proceed in an orderly and responsible manner.
In addition to the Attorney General and Cabinet Secretary Teddy, the limited meeting was also attended by Minister of Defence Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Head of the Defence Logistics Agency of the Ministry of Defence Air Marshal Yusuf Jauhari, State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, and CTO of Danantara Sigit P. Santosa.
