Prabowo Orders Stabilisation of Essential Goods Prices and Food Stocks Ahead of Eid al-Fitr

President Prabowo Subianto has ordered his Red and White Cabinet officials to maintain affordable prices for essential goods and ensure stable food stocks and smooth distribution, particularly ahead of Eid al-Fitr celebrations.

Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya explained that the President issued this directive to cabinet members during a limited meeting at Merdeka Palace on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

“President Prabowo Subianto chaired a limited meeting with several Red and White Cabinet ministers on Tuesday, 10 March 2026, at Merdeka Palace, to discuss governmental preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr. The meeting addressed the stability of supply and prices of essential goods, the smooth running of logistics distribution, and the readiness of infrastructure and public services so that the public can celebrate Eid al-Fitr safely and comfortably,” Cabinet Secretary Teddy stated.

During the meeting, the President emphasised the importance of inter-ministerial and institutional coordination in maintaining food availability, controlling prices of essential goods, and ensuring distribution reaches various regions across the country.

“The readiness of the energy, transport, and state-owned enterprise support sectors also received government attention,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy, who attended the meeting.

Ministers attending the limited meeting included State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Coordinating Minister for Food Zulkifli Hasan, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Marine and Fisheries Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, and Investment and Downstream Processing Minister/BKPM Head Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, among others. Also present were Higher Education, Science, and Technology Minister Brian Yuliarto, PT Pindad Director-General Sigit P. Santosa, Pertamina Director-General Simon Aloysius Mantiri, and Presidential Secretary Agung Surahman.

Over the past three days, President Prabowo has regularly convened cabinet members to discuss governmental preparations ahead of Eid al-Fitr. Such meetings began last weekend (8 March) at the President’s private residence in Hambalang, continued on Monday (9 March) also in Hambalang, and most recently at Merdeka Palace on Tuesday.

During the limited meeting in Hambalang on Monday, President Prabowo focused on LPG and fuel oil supplies ahead of the holiday period, while Sunday’s meeting concentrated on security and smooth travel arrangements during the ten days leading up to Eid al-Fitr.
