Prabowo Orders Construction of Homes for Residents Along Senen Railway Tracks in Central Jakarta

President Prabowo Subianto met with residents or conducted a blusukan visit along the railway tracks in the Senen area, Central Jakarta. After absorbing the community’s aspirations, Prabowo instructed several ministers and PT KAI leaders to construct decent housing for residents living along the railway tracks in Senen.

“Last night, after the blusukan to greet residents along the railway tracks in Senen, Central Jakarta,” wrote Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on the Setkab Instagram account on Friday (27/3/2026).

Prabowo issued the directive to Minister of Transportation Maruarar Sirait, Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo, Acting Director of Perumnas Imelda Alini Pohan, and PT KAI President Director Bobby Rasyidin. The order was given during a limited meeting chaired by Prabowo.

“President Prabowo immediately instructed the Minister of Housing via telephone as he was in Toba (represented by the Secretary General), the Minister of Public Works, the President Director of Perumnas and KAI (Kereta Api Indonesia), as well as several related officials to build housing for residents still living along the railway tracks.

Teddy stated on Friday (27/3) that the team has already begun preparing the process for constructing new housing located not far from the residents’ original area. Teddy said Prabowo wants the railway track residents to live in decent housing.

“According to the residents’ statements, they have lived for decades along the tracks with limited housing and roofs. And the President wants proper housing and sanitation facilities to be built for them as soon as possible,” he added.

Prabowo’s visit took place on Thursday afternoon (26/3). Prabowo stated that decent housing would soon be built for the local residents.

“Having heard the aspirations of the community there, InsyaAllah we will soon build decent housing for the people in that area quickly,” Prabowo wrote in the caption on his Instagram account.

Prabowo reaffirmed his commitment to providing decent housing for the people. “And it has become my determination to provide decent housing for the Indonesian people,” he said.
