Prabowo Opens Presidential Palaces Across Indonesia to Schoolchildren Starting Today
JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has instructed that the Presidential Palaces across Indonesia be opened to schoolchildren starting today.
Cabinet Secretary Lieutenant Colonel TNI Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that this directive aligns with President Prabowo’s programme to invest in building the younger generation.
“Following the instructions and wishes of President Prabowo, we are opening the Palace to schoolchildren. One of the President’s major programmes is investing in building and shaping the younger generation. There are nutritious meals, school renovations, toilets, we install digital learning TVs, then there is the People’s School, integrated school, Garuda School, incentives and welfare for teachers,” said Teddy at the Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
According to Teddy, this policy is made because Prabowo wants schoolchildren to have big aspirations after visiting the Palace.
“Well, the President has seen this, and the President wants, ‘just enter the Palace, introduce them’. They see it directly, they get the experience there. And insya Allah, they will have big aspirations perhaps,” he said.
Teddy explained that during visits to the Palace, schoolchildren will be invited to see the President’s room, the place where ministers are inaugurated, and the place where the President receives state guests.
“We invite them to see the Palace, we invite them to see the places where major decisions for this nation have been made,” said Teddy.
“For what? To give them the desire to aspire as high as possible for this nation,” he added.
Teddy also emphasised that all presidential palaces in Indonesia are open to schoolchildren.
“For those outside Jakarta, or even outside Java, they will be facilitated to come here. Schools can register with the Ministry of State Secretariat, and also with the Cabinet Secretariat office, register. They will then be selected, perhaps once or twice a week, taking turns to come here,” he said.
