Prabowo Opens Briefing by Discussing Government Achievements
President Prabowo Subianto delivered a briefing to his cabinet at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 April 2026. The Gerindra Party chairman opened his speech at the working meeting by discussing claims of his government’s achievements.
In front of his aides, Prabowo discussed the accomplishments of the administration, which has been in office for nearly one year and six months. “In our first year, it cannot be denied that we have achieved real milestones of success,” Prabowo said from the podium.
He assessed that his government has achieved success amid a world filled with uncertainty and conflict. Wars in various regions, Prabowo stated, have caused shocks to global stability.
Nevertheless, Prabowo claimed that his government has remained capable of leading the nation. “Alhamdulillah, our government, in which you are all part of the government I lead, alhamdulillah we have been able to control the direction of development, the direction of our nation’s state,” he said.
Prabowo claimed that his government has navigated the nation through dangerous matters. “Over the past one and a half years, we have proven that our government is effective, our government is reliable, and our government can carry out state duties correctly and well,” said the former defence minister.
Prabowo also revealed several sectors that he considers as tangible and measurable achievements of his government. Among them, he said, are government programmes in the fields of food, energy, and water. “The basis of statehood is those three things,” he stated.
As of this report, President Prabowo was still speaking from the podium to his aides. For this working meeting, Prabowo invited all officials at the ministerial and deputy ministerial levels, heads and deputy heads of agencies, to echelon one officials and directors of state-owned enterprises. Hundreds of those officials arrived at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday afternoon.
A day before Wednesday’s briefing agenda, Prabowo invited several ministers and agency heads to the Palace. On Tuesday, 7 April 2026, some of the officials seen attending included Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto; Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa; Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono; Minister of Agriculture Amran Sulaiman; and Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology Brian Yuliarto. There was also the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP BUMN) Dony Oskaria up to Bank Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo.
After the meeting on Tuesday, Coordinating Minister Airlangga revealed that he discussed the economic sector with Prabowo. According to Airlangga, the results of that meeting would be discussed at the grand working meeting with all ministers to echelon one on Wednesday. “Tomorrow I am asked to present it,” said Airlangga after the meeting on Tuesday.
