Prabowo Openly Reveals Reasons for Removing Dadan Hindayana as Head of National Nutrition Agency!
President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed his commitment to maintaining the integrity and success of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Programme by ensuring there is no room for deviation or abuse of trust in its implementation.
He revealed the reasons behind the removal of three former leaders of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) on Tuesday, 2 June 2026. This statement was made by the Head of State while attending the event ‘Building Indonesia’s Future Generations Through Nutrition’ held at the Sentul International Convention Centre (SICC), Bogor Regency, West Java, on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
Addressing thousands of participants, including Indonesia Development Movement Graduates (SPPI), MBG kitchen managers, and programme partners, President Prabowo stated that the decision to replace those previously entrusted with the programme’s execution was not an easy one. Prabowo recalled the message of his late father, Prof. Sumitro Djojohadikusumo, who always reminded him to side with the people when facing doubt in decision-making.
“If one day you find yourself confused or hesitant, remember, always side with your people,” Prabowo said.
Prabowo also explained that the decision was made after receiving various reports regarding deficiencies, irregularities, and indications of misappropriation in the programme’s implementation. According to him, the quality of leadership is a determining factor in the success of an organisation.
“A good leader, a good organisation. An ineffective leader, an ineffective organisation. Especially if the leader is dishonest, incompetent, or lacks integrity,” he emphasised.
For context, the former Head of BGN, Dadan Hindayana, along with two former Deputy Heads, Sony Sanjaya and Lodewyk Pusung, are alleged to have exploited the development of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) through foundations affiliated with them. All three were officially named suspects by investigators from the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) after undergoing a series of interrogations on Wednesday, 3 June 2026.
“After a series of examinations of DH, AA, and LP as witnesses, and upon finding sufficient evidence, investigators have named them suspects,” said Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi.
Syarief explained that investigators found evidence of alleged manipulation in the verification process for SPPG construction via the BGN portal, which was purportedly orchestrated under the direction of the suspects.
