Prabowo: Only 83,907 Uninhabitable Homes Renovated, Far from 400,000 Target

President Prabowo Subianto has stated that the government will continue its efforts to improve public welfare, one of which involves renovating homes deemed unfit for habitation.

Prabowo said that as of 30 June 2026, only 83,907 uninhabitable homes (RTLH) have been renovated. This means the programme remains far from the target of 400,000 homes.

“A house is not merely a building, but a place where families take shelter, learn and grow. As of 30 June 2026, the government has distributed Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS), home renovation aid for 83,907 houses. This is still far from our target; we must work hard to increase the number,” Prabowo said.

He cited the example of a resident who previously lived in an unfit home but, thanks to BSPS, can now live comfortably in a newly renovated house provided by the government.

“Like Ibu Rema, who is present here. Her house used to be fragile, with damaged walls, floors and roof, but through BSPS, her family can now live comfortably,” Prabowo explained.

He added that the government will continue to seek ways to ensure the BSPS target is achieved this year and that more people can live in decent housing.

“We will keep improving. We are now looking for steps to repair homes,” Prabowo said.
