Prabowo on June Collapse Prediction: It's Already July

President Prabowo Subianto has taken a swipe at those who predicted Indonesia would collapse, stating that such forecasts have consistently missed the mark. ‘Every month they say Indonesia will collapse. June collapse, well, it’s already July. July collapse? They just keep thinking about collapse. Let them be,’ Prabowo said at a mass harvest event with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in Malang on Friday (17/7). Prabowo also again addressed those who have been voicing the ‘Indonesia Gelap’ (Dark Indonesia) narrative. He asserted that his administration will continue working diligently. Prabowo is optimistic that Indonesia will become a developed and self-sufficient nation. ‘But do not keep parroting foreign powers. Indonesia is bad, Indonesia is this, Indonesia is dark. If you wear dark glasses, of course everything looks dark,’ he said. Prabowo stated that his government is determined to give its best to achieve these goals as quickly as possible. He emphasised that Indonesia’s abundant natural wealth must be felt by all its people without exception. Prabowo noted that for too long, the Indonesian people have lived less prosperously compared to the nation’s immense natural riches. ‘We do not want to be a relaxed nation. We will prove to the world that the Indonesian nation is rising with our own strength,’ he declared.
