Prabowo on June Collapse Prediction: It's Already July

President Prabowo Subianto has mocked those who claim that Indonesia will fall, or collapse. He said that predictions of an Indonesian collapse have always missed the mark.

“Every month Indonesia is going to collapse — June it collapses, and now it’s already July. July it collapses. Their only thought is collapse, collapse. Just let them be,” Prabowo said at a grand harvest event with the TNI in Malang on Friday (17/7).

Prabowo also once again touched on those voicing the ‘Dark Indonesia’ slogan.

He said that his team would keep working regardless.

Prabowo expressed optimism that Indonesia will become an advanced nation that stands on its own two feet.

“But don’t keep kowtowing to foreign powers. Indonesia is bad, Indonesia is this, Indonesia is dark. If you wear dark glasses, then everything looks dark,” he said.

Prabowo stated that the government he leads is determined to deliver its best to achieve that goal as quickly as possible.

He said that Indonesia’s abundant natural wealth must be felt by all Indonesian people without exception.

Prabowo noted that for too long the Indonesian people have lived inadequately compared with the country’s immense natural riches.

“We do not want to be a nation that takes it easy. We will prove to the world that the Indonesian nation is rising with our own strength,” he said.
