President Prabowo Subianto has conveyed Eid al-Fitr greetings for 1447 Hijriah. In a video upload, Prabowo also invited the public to continue strengthening unity as one large Indonesian family. This year’s Eid al-Fitr falls on Saturday (21/3). Ahead of tomorrow’s celebration, Prabowo extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to all Indonesians. “I, Prabowo Subianto, President of the Republic of Indonesia, on behalf of myself, my family, and the Indonesian Government, extend Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah greetings. Please forgive my physical and spiritual shortcomings. Minal ’aidin wal-faizin,” said Prabowo in a video uploaded to the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel on Friday (20/3). On this occasion, Prabowo invited everyone to utilise the Eid al-Fitr moment to mutually forgive, strengthen relations, and reinforce unity as one nation amid various challenges. “Let us continue to strengthen our unity as one large Indonesian family. Let us work harder, help one another, and together build an Indonesia that is more just, more prosperous, and stronger,” he added. Based on the sidang isbat decision on Thursday (19/3), Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah or Lebaran 2026 falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026. “Thus, based on the hisab results and the absence of crescent moon sighting reports, it was agreed that 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah falls on Saturday, 21 March 2026,” stated Minister of Religious Affairs Nasaruddin Umar during a press conference on the sidang isbat results, Thursday (19/3). Nasaruddin said that according to hisab, the crescent moon data on Thursday did not meet the MABIMS criteria (Ministers of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore). He stated that the MABIMS criteria are a crescent height of 3 degrees and an elongation angle of 6.4 degrees. However, the crescent height above the horizon on Thursday across Indonesia ranged from 0 degrees 54 minutes 27 seconds to 3 degrees 7 minutes 52 seconds. And the elongation angle ranged from 4 degrees 32 minutes 42 seconds to 6 degrees 6 minutes 11 seconds. Meanwhile, Muhammadiyah has already celebrated Eid al-Fitr today, Friday (20/3). The determination is outlined in the Central Leadership of Muhammadiyah’s Memorandum Number 2/MLM/1.0/E/2025 on the Determination of Hisab Results for Ramadan, Syawal, and Zulhijah 1447 H.
