Prabowo Offers Condolences to NTT Earthquake Victims

President Prabowo Subianto has conveyed his condolences to the victims of the earthquake in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

He delivered the message to residents affected by the earthquake at an evacuation post in Nagekeo Regency, NTT, on Wednesday (26/8).

“I would like to express to all the people of Flores, and to the areas affected by the disaster, my condolences to those who have lost family members,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo stated that the government will not stand idly by. He stressed that the government is continuously monitoring conditions on the ground.

He said the government will continue to take steps to assist affected residents in the area.

“We are preparing everything to overcome this hardship,” he said.

Prabowo noted that conditions are predicted to become safe within three weeks.

After that, the government will begin constructing temporary housing and repairing damaged homes.

“For safety, schools may have to operate in tents for the time being. According to the experts, we need to be patient, perhaps a maximum of three more weeks before everything is relatively safe,” he said.
