Prabowo Offers Condolences on Passing of Former Qatari Emir

President Prabowo Subianto has conveyed his condolences on the passing of former Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani on Sunday. The former Emir died at the age of 74. The message was shared via the official Instagram account of the President of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday. In his message, the head of state also extended his sympathies to the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, over the loss of his father, as well as to the people of Qatar. “Indonesia extends its deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar on the passing of the Emir, His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani,” read President Prabowo’s statement. Sheikh Hamad, who led Qatar from 1995 to 2013, was the chief architect behind the energy-rich nation’s grand ambitions. Under his rule, Qatar experienced rapid economic, social, and cultural development that strengthened its international standing.
