Prabowo offers birthday wishes to Indonesian student during Jordan state visit
Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto wished a happy birthday to one of the female students who welcomed him upon his arrival in Amman, Jordan, on Tuesday (24 February) local time. In a statement from the Presidential Media Team in Jakarta on Wednesday, President Prabowo received a warm welcome from the Indonesian diaspora. Amidst the lively atmosphere, a female student mentioned that it was her birthday. President Prabowo, upon hearing this, immediately inquired about it. “Who is having a birthday?” Prabowo asked. The student, named Lulu, immediately responded when given the opportunity to speak in front of Prabowo. Hearing this, Prabowo immediately conveyed his warm wishes, “Happy birthday, Lulu. I hope you have a long life, good health, and happiness always,” Prabowo said to Lulu. The birthday wishes were met with smiles and emotion from Lulu, who quickly reciprocated with a heartfelt thank you. “Thank you, Sir,” Lulu said. This second official state visit by Prabowo to Jordan is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the fields of education, defence, agriculture, and various issues in the Middle East region. Moreover, 2026 marks an important milestone with the commemoration of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Jordan. President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein, at the Al Husseiniya Palace in Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday afternoon. The bilateral meeting with the King of Jordan today will be the main agenda in the series of President Prabowo’s visit to Amman on 24–25 February 2026. This will also be the second time President Prabowo has held such a meeting, following his first state visit to Amman, Jordan, in mid-April 2025. During the meeting, President Prabowo will be greeted with a ceremonial honour guard from the Jordanian Armed Forces. The two heads of state will then hold a one-on-one meeting, followed by a bilateral meeting between the delegation of the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the delegation of the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. For today’s meeting, President Prabowo and the King of Jordan are likely to follow up on several discussions regarding bilateral cooperation in strategic fields and discuss several issues related to global geopolitical dynamics, especially regarding the stages of recovery in Gaza, Palestine, given that Indonesia and Jordan are currently both members of the Gaza Board of Peace.
