Prabowo: Not All Businesspeople Are Greedy, Don't Hate the Rich

JAKARTA - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto stated that not all businesspeople are greedy.

According to him, many businesspeople truly work well.

“Brothers and sisters, but I invite us to be mature. Not all businesspeople are greedy. Many work well. We need many of them so that the economy thrives. Don’t hate the rich,” said Prabowo during the Labour Day or May Day 2026 event at Monas Field, Jakarta, on Friday (1/5/2026).

Nevertheless, Prabowo does not tolerate naughty businesspeople who rob the nation’s wealth.

“I am unwilling! Government officials entrusted by the people instead collaborate with rotten businesspeople, with greedy businesspeople!” Prabowo emphasised firmly.

This is because Prabowo sees that many Indonesian people still live in hardship.

Therefore, he is determined to prosper the Indonesian people.

“I joined the military to protect this country. To defend this country. To defend my people. But, I was shocked when I retired, I saw that many of my people are still suffering,” said Prabowo.

As Head of State, Prabowo admitted he is very unwilling for there to be Indonesian children still starving.

“I am unwilling for there to be mothers who cannot provide milk for their children,” Prabowo emphasised firmly.
