Prabowo: No More Refugees in Aceh Tamiang Living in Tents
President Prabowo Subianto stated that recovery in the Aceh Tamiang region has been remarkably swift. He said that refugees are no longer living in tents at present.
Prabowo remarked that the repairs and restoration of post-disaster conditions in Aceh Tamiang have been very rapid. He added that Aceh Tamiang is almost 100% recovered.
Furthermore, he noted that the refugees are no longer residing in tents. They are now in temporary housing or permanent residences constructed by the government.
“No one is left in tents; 100% have been moved out of tents and into temporary or permanent housing,” said Prabowo, as reported by detik.
“Alhamdulillah, the situation has improved. Electricity is almost fully operational, nearly 100%.”
Prabowo performed the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayer this morning at Masjid Darussalam in Aceh Tamiang. Prior to that, he spent the takbiran night with Siti Hediati Hariyadi, or Titiek Soeharto, and his son Didit Hediprasetyo.
After the Eid prayer, Prabowo also expressed his thanks to the officials involved in the disaster recovery in Sumatra.
“I am very proud and thank all the personnel, all the apparatus from TNI-Polri, BNPB, Public Works, local government, and all ministries and agencies that have done extraordinary work. They have done outstanding work to help the people in Aceh, North Sumatra, West Sumatra, and other provinces,” he said.
