Prabowo: No Middle East Peace Without Two-State Solution
President Prabowo Subianto agreed with French President Emmanuel Macron on the Middle East conflict, stressing that regional stability is crucial as it directly impacts global energy security and supply chains.
“I agree with President Macron that Middle East stability is vital and will directly affect global energy security and supply chains,” Prabowo said during his working visit to France on Thursday, 28 May 2026.
He reiterated that peace in the Middle East is a shared global concern and welcomed France’s leadership in advocating for a two-state solution and Palestinian statehood.
“Therefore, Middle East peace is a shared interest. I am also pleased that France is among the leading advocates urging many European and Western nations to support the two-state solution and Palestinian statehood,” he added.
Prabowo stated that there can be no Middle East peace without a two-state solution and justice for Palestinians. He expressed confidence that Indonesia and France can play a positive role in global peace.
“Indonesia maintains that there can be no Middle East peace without a two-state solution and justice for Palestinians,” Prabowo said.
“We are confident that in a global landscape fraught with uncertainty, tension, and conflict, our two nations can play a constructive role. Indonesia will always support efforts to maintain global peace,” he added.
