President Prabowo Subianto has instructed his entire administration that there must be no malfeasance or corruption in the delivery of services to the public. He made the remarks during the inauguration of the KH Muhammad Thohir Regional General Hospital in Krui, West Pesisir Regency, Lampung. ‘I also convey a message that there must be no malfeasance, no corruption in services to the people,’ Prabowo said.

The government, Prabowo noted, is continuously striving to ensure the public gains access to adequate healthcare services and affordable medicines. ‘We will endeavour to provide medicines to the people at the lowest possible prices. I hope that within this year we can begin offering generic drugs at cheap prices to the public,’ he stated. He expressed his hope that the newly inaugurated KH Muhammad Thohir Hospital would deliver excellent health services, particularly for the community in West Pesisir.

Prabowo further revealed that the government plans to build and renovate between 350 and 400 hospitals across all regencies in Indonesia within three years. ‘We will build new facilities where possible, or improve and renovate 350 to 400 hospitals in all regencies in Indonesia. We will also upgrade and modernise 10,000 community health centres across Indonesia. This has already been planned,’ he concluded.
