Prabowo: No Corruption Allowed in the Indonesian Government!

President Prabowo Subianto has affirmed his commitment to eradicating corruption, ensuring there will be no room for malpractice within his administration. He stated that the government must be run cleanly as this is a primary condition for improving welfare and advancing the country. He considers Indonesia a wealthy nation, thus requiring a government with high integrity so that this wealth can be distributed fairly. This was conveyed by Prabowo while attending the 2026 Nahdlatul Ulama Alim Ulama National Conference in Bangkalan Regency, East Java, on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. “The government must truly not be corrupt. No corruption is allowed in the government of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Prabowo. Prabowo acknowledged that efforts to eradicate corruption are not easy. However, these steps must still be taken for the sake of the state and the people. One of the steps the government has taken is closing various leakages in state revenue. So far, Prabowo said the government has shut down hundreds of mines without Mining Business Permits (IUP) and illegal plantations in forest areas through the Forest Area Control Task Force (Satgas PKH). Additionally, the government is working to stop fraudulent export practices of strategic natural resource commodities through export governance policies expected to prevent state wealth from flowing abroad. “I understand this is not light work. But what can be done, we must do whatever it takes so that our country is saved,” he said. Furthermore, Prabowo assessed that these various irregularities have caused the loss of state wealth that should rightfully belong to the people and the nation of Indonesia. “These irregularities, in my conviction, are what have brought our nation to its current state. Where we must admit that too much state wealth has been lost, taken from the rights of the people, the rights of the nation,” he stressed. Prabowo also emphasised that his commitment to eradicating corruption is part of the responsibility he carries as head of state. He asserted he will carry out this mandate as best as possible so as not to betray the oath of office he has taken. “I was sworn in to protect the interests of the nation and the people. Therefore, I must carry out the best that I can, so that I do not break my oath to the nation and the people,” he concluded.
