President Prabowo Subianto, during his state address at the Annual MPR Session on Friday (14/8), disclosed that many of his Red and White Cabinet ministers have fallen ill due to working excessively hard for the nation. “So intense has been the work of my ministers and my aides, several of them have had to be hospitalised. Some fainted, some underwent surgery, many were exhausted,” Prabowo stated at the Parliamentary Complex in Senayan, Jakarta. Prabowo pledged that for the remainder of his term, he would ensure his staff receive adequate rest. He also expressed his appreciation for all his aides, whom he assessed had worked tirelessly for the nation. “I promised them that in the remainder of my term, I will give them plenty of time to rest. And they replied, ‘promises, promises’,” Prabowo recounted. “This is proof of the seriousness of the government I lead. According to my aides, there are no red-letter days in my calendar. We accept this mandate with full honour; the task from the people is a noble honour for us,” Prabowo added. The President delivered the state address on Friday morning during the MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, alongside the presentation of the 2027 State Budget Bill and Financial Note. Separately, Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi mentioned there were surprises in Prabowo’s speech. He advised the public not to view the President’s address solely through short clips circulating on social media. “There are several things that have been prepared and there are surprises which, in my opinion, it would be a shame to only hear about through snippets of news or short videos on social media,” Prasetyo said in his statement.
