President Prabowo Subianto has committed to protecting the entire Indonesian archipelago and all its people. He will safeguard all citizens regardless of ethnicity, religion or race.

This was stated by Prabowo during a Nuzulul Qur’an ceremony at the State Palace on Tuesday, 10 March 2026.

“My duty as President of the Republic of Indonesia is to protect the entire Indonesian archipelago and all Indonesian people. All Indonesian people, regardless of their ethnicity, race or religion, must be protected, safeguarded, cared for, looked after and developed,” said Prabowo.

Prabowo emphasised that his administration will work hard to maintain peace and foster good relations with all friendly nations.

“The Indonesian nation under the leadership of my government and all my associates is determined to maintain friendship and good relations with all nations and peoples and all powers,” he concluded.

However, he said, Indonesia greatly respects and will not interfere in any country’s internal affairs. This principle has also been taught by Indonesia’s founding fathers to preserve world peace.

“We do not wish to interfere in the internal affairs of any country. We respect all powers in the world, whether large or small. This is the path shown to us by our nation’s founders,” said Prabowo.

“This has also been shown by virtually all religious teachers from all religions, that we will work very hard to maintain peace,” he added.
