Prabowo moved to tears as Baznas reports aid delivery to Palestine

Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto expressed his emotion and teared up upon receiving a report from Badan Amil Zakat Nasional (Baznas) about the distribution of aid from the Indonesian people to Palestinians in Gaza. In the official broadcast by the Government Public Relations Bureau confirmed in Jakarta on Friday, the emotional moment was shown when Prabowo met with Muslim scholars and intellectuals at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday night (5 March). At the palace, in a gathering with kiai, a video recording showing the distribution of aid to Palestinians from Indonesia was played. After watching the documentary, Prabowo thanked with a trembling voice. He said Baznas has become a symbol of Indonesia’s and Islam’s care for fellow Palestinians. “Amazing, thank you Baznas. You represent the Indonesian nation, you represent Indonesian Muslims,” he told Baznas. “Your aid is greatly felt. I thank you on behalf of the government and the Indonesian nation for the help your organization facilitated. Amazing, thank you,” Prabowo said with a tremulous voice. Prabowo then expressed government support for delivering the humanitarian aid. “We prepared Hercules, we prepared shelter. Much of what is deployed comes via Baznas. Thank you,” the President said.
