Prabowo Mourns the Deaths of Three TNI Soldiers in Lebanon
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto has conveyed his deepest condolences over the deaths of three TNI soldiers who were part of the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL). This expression of grief was posted by Prabowo via the story feature on his Instagram account @prabowo on Tuesday (31/3/2026). “Inna lillahi wa inna ’ilaihi raaji’uun. I extend my deepest condolences over the deaths of Captain Inf Zulmi Aditya Iskandar, Staff Sergeant Muhammad Nur Ichwan, and Private First Class Farizal Rhomadhon while carrying out a peacekeeping mission in the Middle East,” wrote Prabowo in his post. State Secretary (Mensesneg) Prasetyo Hadi stated that the government deeply regrets this incident and has requested relevant authorities to conduct an investigation. On the other hand, he has also communicated with several parties to expedite the process of repatriating the bodies. “We, as the State Secretary, have coordinated with the Minister of Defence, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including the TNI Commander, in carrying out the best efforts for the repatriation of the bodies of the three fallen soldiers,” he said. This coordination also provides directions to the soldiers still guarding UNIFIL. “At the same time, providing a briefing to all troops and soldiers still on duty in the field to increase vigilance. Once again, we certainly feel a great loss and profound grief,” said Prasetyo.
