Prabowo Mobilises All Government Institutions to Ensure Safe and Joyful Eid Exodus
Jakarta (ANTARA) – President Prabowo Subianto has mobilised all ministries and institutions to safeguard the safety and comfort of citizens travelling during the Eid 2026 exodus and return journey period.
The directive was issued by the President during a Full Cabinet Session on Preparations for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri/2026 CE at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Friday.
“For all ministries and institutions, I expect that we implement preparations for Eid. We must ensure that this year’s exodus proceeds smoothly, safely, comfortably and with great joy. Prioritise road safety and prepare all aspects thoroughly,” the President said in his remarks.
President Prabowo stated that the safety of travellers on the road must be the primary priority, whilst ensuring that all transport services and public facilities are ready to handle the surge in population mobility.
Specifically, the President requested that the Minister of Transport facilitate the implementation of transport price discount policies, including airline tickets, train fares, sea vessel charges and toll road tariffs.
“Perhaps the navy and army have vessels that could be made available and coordinated with the Transport Minister, and I believe the National Police also have assets and facilities to assist,” he said.
Additionally, services at various transport hubs have been requested to be improved so that the public experiences a comfortable travel experience during the exodus.
In the social protection sector, the President requested that the Minister of Social Affairs facilitate the distribution of additional food assistance to 35 million beneficiary families in deciles 1 to 4.
The President also requested that regular social assistance be distributed on time to help the public ahead of Eid.
“Minister of Social Affairs, ensure that the additional food assistance for 35 million beneficiary families in deciles 1, 2, 3 and 4 is distributed properly. Also ensure that regular social assistance can be disbursed on time,” he said.
Regarding worker welfare, the President requested that the Minister of Labour, Minister of Finance, and Minister of Investment oversee the timely payment of Eid bonuses (THR) for state civil servants at the central and regional levels.
The government also requested that Eid bonuses for online transport sector workers be distributed in accordance with the stipulated amounts of between IDR 400,000 and IDR 1.6 million per person.
“Also, ensure that the Eid bonus for online transport sector workers reaches them as we have stipulated, which is between IDR 400,000 and IDR 1.6 million per person,” he said.
Furthermore, President Prabowo requested improvements in service quality at various transport facilities including rest areas, ports, airports, and stations.
“Next, I request that the quality of services at rest areas, ports, airports and all stations be improved. Ensure there are no uncontrolled queues,” he said.
In the food sector, the President instructed the relevant ministries, including the Coordinating Minister for Food, Minister of Trade, and Minister of Agriculture, to maintain stable food supply and prices to remain secure during the Eid period.
Meanwhile, the President requested that the Minister of Tourism actively visit tourism destinations to promote domestic tourism during the Eid holiday period.
