President Prabowo Subianto has revealed that a number of ministers and government officials have experienced exhaustion during the 21 months of his administration. Some of them have even been hospitalised, collapsed, and undergone surgery.

“So hard have my ministers and my aides worked. Some of them have had to be hospitalised, some have collapsed, some have had surgery, many are exhausted,” Prabowo said in his state address at the DPR/MPR RI Plenary Hall, Jakarta, Friday (14/8/2026).

Prabowo said this condition demonstrates the government’s seriousness in carrying out the people’s mandate. According to him, the government has worked hard to begin resolving various problems that for decades have been considered complex.

In 21 months, or 663 days, of his administration, Prabowo said he has decided and implemented 121 transformative policies. This means the government has on average enacted one transformative policy every five days.

“I cannot yet say that all the nation’s problems have been resolved, or that all the promises I have made have been fulfilled. Not yet,” he said.

Prabowo stressed that the government has begun to resolve various problems through transformative policies. According to him, the courage to make decisions, hard work, clear intent, orientation towards the people, and mutual cooperation form the basis of the government’s work.

He also promised to give more rest time to ministers and government officials in the remainder of his term.

“I promised them that in the remainder of my term, I will give them more time to rest,” Prabowo said.

However, Prabowo immediately made a joke. The ministers and government officials reportedly did not simply believe the promise.

“And they replied, a promise is just a promise,” Prabowo said, greeted by laughter.

Prabowo stressed that the mandate received by the government is an honour and a noble duty from the people. Therefore, the government will continue to work for the interests of the people and the nation.

“We will work as hard as we can, we will work flat out for our people and our nation,” he said.
