Prabowo Mentions 'Backers Wearing Green-Brown Uniforms' at Plenary, What's Going On?

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto arrived at the 19th Plenary Session of the DPR RI on Wednesday (20 May 2026). He was presenting the Macro-Economic Framework (KEM) and the Pokok-Pokok Kebijakan Fiskal (PPKF) for the RAPBN Year 2027, at the Nusantara Building of the MPR/DPR/DPD-RI. He began by emphasising that the people demand a good government, not one that is relaxed and complacent, including in issuing business permits which take too long. He stated that dismissals, particularly of civil servants, could be undertaken. He warned officials, such as governors and regents, not to engage in misconduct. ‘If officials still attempt corruption, they will be quickly detected.. Now there is technology, there is radar we can use to see underground. So those who have bunkers, hidden, will be found and your wealth will be exposed,’ he declared. He also said that no party should take technology lightly. ‘So how will you cheat? We will expose your fraud… but usually those people have protectors,’ he continued. ‘The protectors are usually the ones in uniforms; if not green, then brown,’ he added, referring to certain members of the TNI and Polri. ‘I, as a senior and alumnus, have no doubt.. Do not tarnish the TNI-Polri, brothers. The TNI-Polri belong to the people and must fight for the people,’ he asserted. ‘If there are officials whose conduct is not proper, I ask the people to film it. A video, directly.
