Prabowo Meets with President MBZ in Abu Dhabi
President Prabowo Subianto visited the United Arab Emirates in the middle of this week. In Abu Dhabi, the capital of the UAE, Prabowo met with UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, or MBZ, in a bilateral forum.

The meeting between the two leaders took place at Qasr Al Bahr, Abu Dhabi on Thursday, February 26, 2026. “Upon arriving at Qasr Al Bahr, President Prabowo was greeted directly by President MBZ,” according to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Friday, February 27, 2026.
According to the Presidential Secretariat, the bilateral meeting was attended by all the leaders of the UAE’s emirates. This Gulf nation has seven emirates, each led by an emir.
The seven emirs also attended the meeting with Prabowo, including MBZ, the Emir of Abu Dhabi who also serves as President of the UAE, and Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Emir of Dubai who serves as Prime Minister of the UAE. In addition, the Emirs of Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah, and Fujairah were also present.
In this meeting during the month of Ramadan, the bilateral forum began with an open discussion while waiting for the time to break the fast and perform the Maghrib prayer. The dialogue then continued in an expanded meeting.
“To discuss a number of strategic agendas, ranging from strengthening energy cooperation, investment, to future economic partnerships,” according to the Presidential Secretariat.
As a closing, President Prabowo and President MBZ held a tête-à-tête meeting. This moment also marks the intention of the two countries to strengthen diplomatic relations that have been established for 50 years since 1976.
President Prabowo was accompanied by a number of officials in this bilateral meeting. Those present included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Indonesian Ambassador to the UAE Judha Nugraha, and President Director of PT. Pindad (Persero) Sigit P. Santosa.
Meanwhile, President MBZ was accompanied by Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court Hamdan bin Mohamed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the Presidential Court Mohamed bin Hamad Al Nahyan, Advisor for Strategic Affairs Ahmed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Al Mazrouei, and UAE Ambassador to Indonesia Abdulla Salem Obaid Salem Al Dhaheri.
