Prabowo Meets with Luhut and Purbaya to Discuss Middle East Conflict, Fuel and Gas Supplies Adequate
President Prabowo Subianto convened a limited meeting to discuss global economic developments, including potential impacts of Middle East conflict escalation on the global and Indonesian economies.
The meeting was held during the first anniversary celebration of Danantara at Wisma Danantara in South Jakarta on Wednesday (11 March). Attending the meeting were Head of the National Economic Council (DEN) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan and DEN members, along with several ministers including State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, and Investment and Downstream Sector Minister Rosan Roeslani.
During the meeting, it was confirmed that national fuel and gas supplies are currently adequate. The government assured it will continue to monitor developments in global energy and prepare mitigation measures to ensure impacts on the state budget remain controlled.
“It was communicated that national fuel and gas supplies are in adequate condition. The government will continue to monitor global energy price developments and prepare mitigation measures to ensure their impact on the state budget remains controlled,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in a statement on Thursday (12 March 2026).
Furthermore, Prabowo also emphasised the importance of accelerating energy self-sufficiency and strengthening government digitalisation. This includes through piloting digitalisation of social assistance distribution to improve efficiency of state spending.
“The President requested that all government lines continue to anticipate developments in the global situation and ensure national economic stability remains protected,” he said.
