Prabowo Meets with King Abdullah II at Basman Palace, Jordan

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Basman Palace, Amman, Jordan, on Wednesday, 25th February 2026, local time. Today, Prabowo is scheduled to meet with the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein.

According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat, Prabowo was welcomed with a state ceremony. He was greeted directly by King Abdullah II Ibn Al-Hussein.

Before the ceremony began, both heads of state introduced their respective delegations. From the Indonesian side, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya were present.

Then, the state ceremony was held. During the ceremony, the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, was played, followed by the Jordanian national anthem.

After the national anthems were played, President Prabowo and King Abdullah II stood on the honour guard before jointly inspecting the troops, who were members of the Jordanian Armed Forces.

The series of ceremonies continued with a meeting between President Prabowo and King Abdullah II in one of the rooms at the Basman Palace complex.

This working visit by the President to Jordan is expected to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the two countries, especially in the fields of education, defence, agriculture, and regional issues in the Middle East. Moreover, this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

According to information gathered, after completing the official agenda at Basman Palace, the President is scheduled to depart for Marka Royal Jordanian Air Force Base to continue his state visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
