Prabowo Meets South Korean President, Welcomed with State Ceremony at Blue House
President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung at the Blue House. Prabowo was welcomed with a state ceremony.
The visit took place on Wednesday morning (1/4/2026) local time. Prabowo’s arrival was immediately greeted by Lee Jae Myung, who was waiting. The two appeared to embrace warmly, indicating strong personal closeness and a positive signal for the diplomatic relations between the two countries.
The two heads of state then proceeded to the honour stage to participate in the welcoming ceremony procession. A solemn atmosphere prevailed as the national anthems of both countries, ‘Indonesia Raya’ and ‘Aegukga’, were played. Prabowo and Lee Jae Myung were seen saluting as the two national anthems were sung.
The ceremony continued with the procession of inspecting the honour guard troops by both presidents. After reviewing the ranks of the troops, Prabowo and Lee Jae Myung then led the session for introducing the delegations from each country.
The Indonesian delegation present included Foreign Minister Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahdalia, Minister of Investment and Downstreaming Rosan Roeslani, Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, Minister of Communication and Digitalisation Meutya Hafid, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
This visit to the Blue House was the main agenda following Prabowo’s arrival in Seoul on Tuesday night (31/3). The presidential aircraft Garuda Indonesia-1 landed at Seongnam Military Air Base at 19:15 local time.
