Prabowo Meets Ray Dalio at the Palace, What Was Discussed?
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with investor and billionaire Ray Dalio at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Friday (27/3/2026).
This meeting was revealed by Finance Minister (Menkeu) Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa, who accompanied Prabowo in the session with the advisor to the Investment Management Agency (BPI) Danantara.
“I accompanied the President in meeting Mr Ray Dalio,” said Purbaya after meeting Prabowo at the Palace.
According to him, Ray Dalio also assisted Prabowo in getting to know several foreign investors.
“It’s a form of assistance for our promotion abroad, and there are some inputs regarding several projects that can make our economy move faster. There are some energy projects and others. Investment projects, that’s it,” he explained.
In that meeting, Purbaya admitted he only listened and accompanied Prabowo.
“I just told him that if there are projects that are slow as he mentioned earlier, we will handle them in the debottlenecking team (identification process). We will resolve them quickly,” he said.
According to him, some topics touched upon in the meeting with Ray Dalio included pushing for the acceleration of projects with investors from Singapore and several other countries.
However, he declined to reveal more details.
“What I heard earlier was energy, then there are Special Economic Zones (KEK), and some other initiatives,” Purbaya continued.
“There was a brief discussion (on adding KEK). Later, the Coordinating Minister will speak about it; I don’t understand the details. There will be one additional Special Economic Zone to attract investors. Ask the Coordinating Minister for the Economy later,” he said.
In addition, according to him, the projects promoted by Dalio are related to solar power plants (PLTS).
“If the President decides, we support it. But the President must see what kind of information there is; that’s what we look at too,” said Purbaya.
