Prabowo Meets Macron in France, Discusses Defence Equipment Procurement to Energy Transition

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto discussed main weapon system equipment (alutsista) to energy transition matters during his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Tuesday (14/4/2026).

Prabowo met Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris.

“As one of the important partners in the European region, Indonesia continues to encourage sustainable cooperation with France to open up new collaboration opportunities that are increasingly concrete and mutually beneficial for both countries,” added Prabowo.

This welcome is part of the highest symbolic military honour for a state visit.

The two leaders appeared to shake hands and have a brief conversation before proceeding to the main agenda. President Prabowo and President Macron then proceeded to the Les Salon des Portraits room to hold a tête-à-tête meeting.

The agenda continued with an official lunch.

Accompanying President Prabowo in the event was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
