Prabowo Meets Macron at the Élysée Palace, Welcomed by French Guard of Honour
President Prabowo Subianto continued his diplomatic series by meeting French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris. Prabowo was welcomed by the French guard of honour upon arrival at the Élysée Palace.
Quoted from the Presidential Secretariat Bureau on Tuesday (14/4/2026), Prabowo’s arrival at the Élysée Palace was officially received by Macron along with the guard of honour. The French Guard of Honour provided a military salute to Prabowo.
In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the two leaders shook hands and had a brief conversation before proceeding to the main agenda. Prabowo and Macron then proceeded to the Salon des Portraits room for a tête-à-tête meeting.
The one-on-one meeting served as a strategic forum for the two leaders to discuss strengthening bilateral cooperation in various priority sectors. They also exchanged views on the developing global dynamics.
The agenda continued with an official lunch, which formed part of high-level diplomacy to strengthen personal relations between leaders and fortify the foundation of partnership between the two countries.
Accompanying Prabowo in the agenda was Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
Prior to Macron, Prabowo visited Russia and met President Vladimir Putin. The meeting took place at the Kremlin Palace in Moscow on Monday (13/4) for 5 hours. The meeting resulted in several agreements, including cooperation in the energy sector.
“Several points were agreed upon, including long-term cooperation in the ESDM sector, encompassing oil and gas energy resilience and downstreaming,” said Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya in his written statement on Tuesday (14/4).
In addition to the energy sector, Teddy mentioned that the two countries also reaffirmed their commitment to continue and expand cooperation in various other fields deemed to have a direct impact on national development. The continuation of cooperation in research to investment.
“The sustainability of several cooperations in the fields of education, research, and technology, the agricultural sector, and investments in various sectors, especially industrial development in Indonesia,” he stated.
