Prabowo meets French President Macron at Élysée Palace accompanied by his son Didit

Jakarta, Kompas.com - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto met French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Thursday (28 June 2026). Accompanied by his only son, Didit Prabowo, Prabowo arrived wearing a grey suit and black songkok, while Didit wore a black suit. Upon stepping out of his official car in France, Prabowo was immediately welcomed by Macron, who shook hands and embraced him. Prabowo then greeted French First Lady Brigitte Macron, who also extended a welcoming gesture. Macron subsequently invited Prabowo and Didit into the palace for their closed-door meeting. Prabowo arrived at Paris Or.ly Airport around 10am local time (3pm WIB) following a 16-hour flight, marking his fourth visit to France. Previous meetings took place on 14 July 2025, 23 January 2026, and 14 April 2026. The state visit aims to strengthen the Indonesia-France Strategic Partnership, which has been growing through intensifying ties between the two leaders.
