Prabowo Meets Emperor Naruhito at the Imperial Palace in Japan, Concludes with State Luncheon
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto paid a courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito of Japan at the Imperial Palace in Tokyo on Monday (30/3/2026).
This meeting formed part of the official visit by President Prabowo to Japan.
According to a press release from the Presidential Secretariat, the Head of State was personally welcomed by Emperor Naruhito upon alighting from his vehicle upon arrival at the Imperial Palace.
The two leaders then proceeded to the Take-no-ma room.
During the meeting, President Prabowo and Emperor Naruhito discussed several strategic issues that are of common interest to both nations.
Additionally, the conversation was enlivened by exchanges of light-hearted stories, reflecting the personal closeness between the two leaders.
Following the meeting, Prabowo, along with Emperor Naruhito and Crown Prince Fumihito, attended a state luncheon held at Rensui North in the Imperial Palace.
The atmosphere of the state luncheon unfolded against the backdrop of a beautifully landscaped garden directly in front of the two leaders.
Throughout the luncheon, he was seen smiling several times.
In the meeting, Prabowo was accompanied by his only child, Ragowo Hediprasetyo, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Foreign Minister Sugiono, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
