Prabowo Meets Danantara Chief, Discusses Concerts and Sporting Events
President Prabowo Subianto summoned Minister of Investment and Downstreaming, who is also Head of Danantara, Rosan Roeslani, to his private residence in Kertanegara, Jakarta, on Sunday (21/6/2026). The meeting discussed accelerating the transformation of state-owned enterprises (SOEs) and strengthening new sectors that could become engines of national economic growth. According to information conveyed by Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya via his official Instagram account, one focus of the discussion was more optimal management of state assets to generate greater benefits for the public. During the meeting, Danantara was also encouraged to open new economic growth opportunities through the development of several potential sectors. Sectors of interest include tourism, the hosting of sporting events, music concerts, and the creative industry. Strengthening these sectors is considered capable of creating jobs, attracting new investment, and increasing national economic turnover. Besides discussing new economic growth opportunities, the President and Rosan also talked about the ongoing process of SOE consolidation and transformation. βThe process of SOE consolidation and transformation is continuing. Out of a total of approximately 1,077 SOE entities, 258 have been successfully consolidated, with a target of around 300 entities in the near future,β as quoted on Monday (22/6/2026). The government hopes these consolidation steps will improve the operational efficiency of SOEs and strengthen corporate governance. The effort is also expected to reduce various cost burdens that have been shouldered by the state.
