Prabowo Meets 13 Japanese Company Executives, Here are the Details

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - President Prabowo Subianto held a meeting with 13 leaders of major Japanese companies in Tokyo on Tuesday (31/3/2026). This strategic meeting is part of President Prabowo’s official visit to Japan aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two countries. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that the meeting is part of the government’s strategic efforts to bolster investment cooperation. In particular, he said, it aims to promote industrial downstreaming as a national priority and to solidify Indonesia’s position in the global supply chain. He explained that President Prabowo urged Japanese investors to become more active in expanding their investments in Indonesia during the meeting, especially in the downstreaming sector which offers high added value. He added that this meeting also follows up on significant previous investment achievements, with commitments valued at more than Rp 380 trillion, demonstrating high investor confidence in Indonesia’s economic prospects.
