Prabowo Meets 12 Investors in Washington
President Prabowo Subianto met with 12 heads of global investment firms in a meeting held as part of his working visit to Washington D.C., United States. The investors were chief executive officers and presidents of companies with combined assets under management of approximately US$15 trillion.
Investment and Downstream Industries Minister and BKPM Head, who also serves as Danantara CEO, Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, said the meeting lasted nearly two hours. "It was initially expected to run for just one hour, but the discussion was very fruitful, very productive," Rosan said in a written statement on Saturday, 21 February 2026.
During the meeting, Rosan said, Prabowo outlined the direction of national economic policy, measures to strengthen the investment climate, and the government's commitment to maintaining stability and legal certainty. Discussions then continued in one-on-one sessions with each company head to explore potential further cooperation.
Rosan claimed that Danantara's presence received a positive response from the global investors in attendance. They assessed Danantara as having potential to become a strategic local partner in various investment schemes, both in Indonesia and globally.
"They also see potential as a local partner for Danantara, and that provides comfort and confidence as well, because we can invest together not only in Indonesia but also outside Indonesia," he said.
Rosan recounted that President Prabowo affirmed during the meeting that Indonesia no longer wishes to be known as a sleeping giant. "It is time for Indonesia to rise, move forward, and maximise all national economic potential together with global partners," he said.
President Prabowo's meeting with the CEOs of global investment firms took place in Washington D.C. on Friday, 20 February 2026 local time. During his visit to the United States, Prabowo also attended other forums including the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace and the signing of a trade import tariff agreement with United States President Donald Trump.
Prabowo also spoke before American business leaders at a business summit at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington D.C. on Wednesday, 18 February 2026 local time.
