Prabowo: Many Experts Predict Indonesia Will Be World's 4th Richest Country
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that Indonesia will become the world’s fourth-richest country by 2045-2050, a prediction he attributes to many global experts. He made the remarks during a simultaneous harvest event with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) in Malang, East Java, on Friday (17/7/2026). “Ladies and gentlemen, many experts around the world have predicted that in the years 2045-2050, Indonesia will become the fourth-largest and richest country in the world,” Prabowo said. He elaborated that by 2050, China is expected to be the world’s richest country, followed by the United States, India in third place, and then Indonesia in fourth. According to Prabowo, Indonesia’s position would surpass many current developed nations such as Japan, the United Kingdom, and France. “By 2075, India will rise, and we will be okay in fourth place in the world. By 2050, we will be above Japan, above the United Kingdom, Brazil, and France,” he stated. He therefore urged all parties to prepare, noting that there are only 25 years left until 2050, with a particular focus on human resources, especially children who are currently 10 years old. “So, the children who are now 10 years old and in primary school will be 35 in 25 years; they are the core of the Indonesian nation. If we do not take care of these children now, how will we become the fourth-largest country in the world? We must eliminate hunger, we must eliminate extreme poverty, and God willing, we will eliminate it,” he said.
