Prabowo Makes a Breakthrough: Hajj Waiting List Previously 48 Years, Now Just 26 Years
President Prabowo Subianto is employing various methods to accelerate the waiting time for Hajj pilgrims from Indonesia. In short, Prabowo announced heartening news for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims that the waiting time is now only 26 years, down from the previous 48 years.
“We have strived, and alhamdulillah, the Hajj queue is no longer 48 years; starting from 2026, the Hajj queue will be at most 26 years,” stated Prabowo during the Government Working Meeting with Members of the Merah Putih Cabinet at the Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).
Prabowo emphasised that the government will continue to strive to make the waiting time for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims much faster still.
“I will fight to make it even shorter,” he explained.
Not only is the queue becoming faster, but on that occasion, Prabowo also announced that the cost of Hajj for Indonesia in 2026 will decrease by Rp2 million. According to Prabowo, this is an achievement made by the government amid soaring aircraft fuel prices.
“We ensure that the Hajj cost for 2026 will be lowered by around Rp2 million, even though aviation fuel prices are rising, but we dare to lower the Hajj cost for this year; this is the government’s commitment to protecting the people at the bottom,” he asserted firmly.
