President Prabowo Subianto has praised a number of achievements by the legislative institutions, ranging from the completion and enactment of 13 bills by the House of Representatives (DPR) together with the government, to the collection of 10,883 public aspirations from 38 provinces by the Regional Representatives Council (DPD).

Prabowo made the remarks in his state address at the 2026 Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) and the Joint Session of the DPD and DPR at the MPR/DPR Building in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.

“The DPR together with the government has completed and enacted 13 bills up to July 2026,” the President said.

Prabowo said that national development is not the work of the president alone, but the result of joint efforts by all state institutions, central and regional governments, and the entire Indonesian people.

The President noted that the MPR continues to carry out its role as the ‘House of Nationality’ by strengthening constitutional literacy and safeguarding Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

“Democracy must not stop at electoral procedures. Democracy must fulfil the basic rights of the people and adhere to all articles of our Constitution,” he said.

Meanwhile, Prabowo noted that the DPR together with the government had completed and enacted 13 bills up to July 2026.

One of these legislative products is Law Number 2 of 2026 on the Protection of Domestic Workers, which according to Prabowo represents recognition that every job has dignity and every worker has the right to protection.

Prabowo also highlighted the performance of the DPD, which has gathered 10,883 aspirations from 38 provinces. These aspirations were then brought into dialogue with the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) as input for the preparation of the 2027 Government Work Plan (RKP).

“The DPD also continues to fight for the Archipelagic Regions Bill, which has now entered tripartite deliberation together with the DPR and the government. God willing, it will be completed,” Prabowo said.

On Friday, the MPR, DPR, and DPD held the Annual Session of the MPR and the Joint Session of the DPR and DPD, one of the agendas of which was President Prabowo Subianto’s address for the delivery of the performance report of state institutions and the state address of the President of the Republic of Indonesia in the context of the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

In addition to the speech, the government will also screen a video of government performance achievements.

This annual session is a state agenda to welcome the 81st anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Indonesia, which carries the theme “A Sovereign, Just, and Prosperous Indonesia”.
